Prior publication
A legitimate preprint is not automatically prior publication. Prior formal journal publication of substantially the same work remains prohibited.
At submission
Authors should disclose relevant preprint information. The manuscript remains subject to normal editorial assessment and peer review, and authors remain responsible for ethical, privacy, confidentiality, and legal requirements.
After publication
Where possible, authors are encouraged to update the preprint with the citation and Version-of-Record link. Journals may establish justified restrictions for particular article types.
