Journal Overview

Anva Physical Sciences examines matter, energy, space, time, and the laws and measurements connecting them, from fundamental theory to applied physical systems.

Intended readership: Physicists, applied scientists, quantitative researchers, and instrumentation developers.

Aims & Scope

The journal advances physical understanding through theory, experiment, computation, observation, or instrumentation. It spans condensed matter, atomic and molecular physics, optics, photonics, quantum science, statistical physics, thermodynamics, fluids, plasmas, and complex systems.

Nuclear, particle, high-energy, astrophysical, cosmological, and physically focused geophysical research is considered. Computational and mathematical physics should yield substantive physical insight.

Manuscripts should connect evidence or formal analysis to a clear physical question and distinguish numerical output from physical interpretation.

Subject Coverage

Use these areas to judge whether the manuscript’s central contribution belongs in this journal.

  • Condensed matter physics
  • Atomic and molecular physics
  • Optics and photonics
  • Quantum science
  • Statistical physics and thermodynamics
  • Fluid and plasma physics
  • Nuclear and high-energy physics
  • Astrophysics and cosmology
  • Physical geoscience
  • Computational and mathematical physics
  • Nonlinear systems
  • Instrumentation and applied physics

Methods & Approaches

Methods should suit the research question. These common approaches are illustrative, not artificial requirements.

  • Controlled experiment and measurement
  • Analytical theory
  • Numerical simulation
  • Observational analysis
  • Instrument calibration
  • Mathematical modelling
  • Uncertainty analysis

Interdisciplinary interfaces

  • Physics with materials
  • Physics with mathematics
  • Instrumentation and engineering
  • Earth and space systems

Scope Boundaries

Editors assess each manuscript as a whole. The following are generally outside scope unless a clear substantive contribution is established:

  • Engineering design without substantive physical insight
  • Materials fabrication without physical analysis
  • Numerical results lacking validation or interpretation

Article Types

Availability is confirmed during submission and may vary. No universal length or item limits are implied.

Original Research Article

A complete original study with methods, evidence, limitations, and discipline-appropriate conclusions.

Review Article

A critical, structured synthesis that advances understanding of a defined topic.

Short Communication / Brief Report

A focused original contribution whose significance can be established concisely.

Methods / Methodology Article

A validated method, workflow, instrument, computational approach, or analytical advance.

Perspective / Commentary

Evidence-informed analysis of a significant development or direction; unsupported opinion is unsuitable.
